Johana Aguirre Guerrero

Johana holds a Law Degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Ecuador and a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property Law from Universidad de las Americas in Quito. With over 25 years of experience, she has built a solid career advising domestic and international clients in all aspects of intellectual property law.

She has led key proceedings in trademark registration, copyright protection, IP litigation, and enforcement strategies across Latin America. Johana has also served as President of Ecuador’s most prominent IP associations, including AEPI and AIPPI Ecuador, and as the Ecuadorian Delegate for ASIPI. In 2024, she was reappointed President of the Ecuadorian Intellectual Property Association (AEPI).

Her work stands out for combining deep legal knowledge with strategic thinking and regional leadership.

Johana has been part of Guerrero Intellectual Property since 1998. Throughout her career, she has provided high-level legal advice on all aspects of intellectual property law, assisting national and international clients in matters of registration, litigation, enforcement, and portfolio management.

Johana has an LL.B. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and a LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from University of the Americas, Quito, Ecuador.

She also has two Specialization Certificates, the first one in Industrial Property and Competition Law from the Institute of Industrial Law (IDIUS) Santiago de Compostela, Spain University and the second one in Industrial Property Law at University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Buenos Aires, Argentina.
